Chips had been a
dry person before his marriage. He was a mediocre type of teacher. He was liked
and thought well of by Brookfield. But, he did not get much love and affection
from people.

She made him a
new man to all appearance. As a result, Mr. Chips improved both as a person and a professional. His
eyes gained sparkle and his sense of humor became rich. He started to make jokes
in his class. His students started loving him.

of the Roman Republic, restoring the right of marriage between patricians (upper class) and plebeians
(lower class).

Surprisingly, the
dangerous experiment was a great success. The boys from Poplar arrived at
Brookfield, played soccer with the School's second team. They were honorably defeated by seven goals to five. Later, they also had high tea with the Brookfield team.

Chips' discipline
was very weak. Katherine advised him not
to punish the students all the time. She advised him to be kind to the
students. She motivated him to gain
respect and love.
